"People can come to us through a doctor's referral, but it is not necessary," says Mr. Paris. Parisport makes use of the most up-to-date machinery and equipment available.

"We have a lot of hands-on, manual therapy, and, to supplement that, we may use certain state-of-the-art machines like muscle stimulators, ultra-sound and electrical currents which help reduce pain, reduce inflammation and promote healing.

"We have a whirlpool bath and use a lot of heat and a lot of exercise to re-educate muscles through strengthening and stretching," says Mr. Paris.

Mr. Paris says many people apply heat to a fresh injury when, in fact, ice should be applied for the first 48 to 72 hours. Before starting up any activity, he advises getting a full check-up from a doctor. Then work up gradually. To prevent injuries, do not do too much too soon.
